Please remember to preregister at the hospital prior to your procedure date. Patients that try to register the day of the procedure may charged $250 and could be canceled or rescheduled.
Nacogdoches Gastroenterology PLLC will provide you with preparation instructions for "MoviPrep." Details follow.
MoviPrep
The day before your procedure you will be on a clear liquid diet ALL day. Absolutely no solid foods may be consumed on this day. You may have clear broth, clear soft drinks, popsicles, jello, tea, lemonade or Gatorade. Please do not eat or drink anything RED or PURPLE. (Foods with red and purple dyes can present as blood during the procedure and may affect your diagnosis.) On this day you will start your MoviPrep at 5 p.m. - repeating every 15 minutes until 5:45 p.m.; begin again at 10 p.m. and continue through 10:45 p.m. Even after starting your prep, continue on your clear liquid diet. At midnight on this day you will be "NPO" (this means you should have nothing to eat or drink; food and liquids in your system may affect your anesthesia and could lead to the cancellation of your appointment).
Clear Liquid Diet
This diet provides examples of fluids that leave little residue and are easily absorbed with digestive activity. Remember, NO RED or PURPLE liquids should be consumed on this day.
Please do not consume solid foods, such as meats, vegetables, grains or starches. A complete bowel prep lets a patient pass stool that is clear. Stool inside the colon can prevent Dr. Jones from clearly seeing the lining of the intestine.
